Step 9

You need:

•    scissors

•    oaktag

•    crayons or markers

•    buttons and sequins

•    glue

•    hole puncher

•    brass paper fasteners

•    paper-towel rolls (one for each child)

•    string

1.    Reproduce the teddy bear head and body once, and the arms and legs twice.

Cut out.

2.    Tracę the parts on oaktag and cut out. Have children use these oaktag patterns to tracę on morę pieces of oaktag and cut out.

3.    Have children color their bears. Buttons and sequins can be glued on for eyes and noses.

4.    Punch holes in the arms, legs, head, and body as indicated.

5.    Attach the arms and legs to the bear bodies with brass paper fasteners.

6.    Help children glue the teddy bear head to the body as shown.

7.    Cut paper-towel rolls in half. Tie a 13" piece of string around the middle of the paper-towel roli and attach to the hole in the teddy bear head as shown.

8.    Punch holes in the ends of the paper-towel roli as shown.

9.    Tie a 36" piece of string to one of the arms. Thread the string through the holes on the paper towel roli as shown and tie the end to the other arm.
