YOU’LL need a daming foot. which can often be picked up for less than £10 at your local sewing shop. Consult your sewing machinę manuał for specific instructions on attaching your daming foot as all machines are different

MOUNT your fabric into a wooden stitch hoop. the opposite way to normaI. so the inner ring is facing up. Lift up on your daming foot and place your hoop undemeath. Drop the feed dogs. thread your needle and you're ready

HOŁD the hoop lightly with both hands. Begin sewing. moving the hoop in any direction. Use scrap fabric to practise making squiggles and shapes. It takes a while to get the hang of it. so don't get discouraged.

ONCE you feel a bit morę conf ident. try stitching some shapes. starting with squares. Then move on to circles and finally hearts. We've worked all our designs using double outlines. which create a wonderfully sketchy look.

TRACĘ our large heart tern piąte on to the smooth side of a piece of Bondaweb. Roughly cut around the shape and adhere to the back of your fabric. Cut out and repeat for the remaining three hearts.
CUT out four pieces of fabnc measunng 20x20cm each. Lay out all your fabric hearts and squares. mixing and matching until you‘re happy with the finał look. Adhere a heart to the centre of each sguare using an iron.
MACHINĘ embroider a double outline in a contrasting thread shade around each heart shape. With nght sides in. sew two of your patches together. Repeat with the other two. Open and press seams fiat.
WITH nght sides in. sew your two sets together. lining up the seams at the middle.
Sew your front piece and a backing piece together. Ieaving an opening. Turn and add a button. Fili with stuff ing and slip stitch closed.
