stroking of the legs. Tlie iollowing is a goud special exercise : The Deep Knee-bcnding (explained on page 60), \vith the thighs forced well apart. Furtlier. T should recommend the sufferer to wear boots with the heels rnade higher on the inner aide than onter. When lying upon the back, sleeping, have the ankles tied together. or kept together by a broad elastic band, and place a firm pillow between the knees. Riding on horseback is a splendid exereise, but cycling is not, and rowing or scuing with a sliding seat is also very good. The knees should be well opened when the body is brought forwards. Swimming is highly recommended, because it tends to straighten the legs, whatever the deformity. And if the legs are not weak, football will be also verv beneficial.

Perspiring, hands and feet. A sufierer from auto-intoxication will get rid of much poisonous matter by perspiring. But if the skin of the whole body is not working properly, the perspiration will seek the channels of least resistance. i.e.. where tlić pores are most numerous, namely in the palms, the soles of the feet, and the armpits. Owing to the concentration of the poisons. the fluid will smelt cery badly. It is obvious, then, that the cause of the evil will not be remoced by treating only the hands and feet. The whole surface of the skin must be toned up, and all the pores opened by daily baths (to be taken hot at first) and skin-rubbing exercises. But first of all the sources of the “ auto-intoxication 1 must be stopped. (See this item, and the foregoing chapter.)
