If you have had nny experience with exerrising al all, you will notice that your muscles scem lo “swell up” after you iinish a certain movement. They stand out morę and are much harder. That is because the blood rushes to the part you have exercised. But there really is a difference in size, before and after exereising. If you measure your upper arm, for instance, before starting a certain movemezit and then exercisc it vigorously, giving both the biceps and triceps plcnty of work until they are fairly aching and then measure your arm i\l| around the same part again, you will notice a
difference of Vj to yó an hich. according to the size of your development. This you ean do with any muscle or group of muscles in your body. It is this constant “swelling up” of your muscles that finally makes them stay so, or rather, inereases their size.
A ąuarter of an inch morę of muscle on your arm, for example, makes a vast difference in appearance.
Almost anybody run acquire a 16-inch muscular upper arm. It is not hard to get. It simply means doing the proper exercise» with absolute regularily.
I remember. when I first started systematic training, my own arm measured only 10 inches around the upper part or biceps, while now it measures 16^ inches—quite a difference, isnłt it? Now a 16^-inch arm does not only mean 16^ inches of massive, knotty muscles, just to look at. It means strengtli be-hind it and almost unlimited cnergy.
My chest, at present, measures expanded. close to 48 inches— and what does that mean? Not just a neavy muscular back deyelop-ment and thick pcctoral muscles, but internal organs that are strong a lung capachy that signifies endurance and vltality and energy, whicn give me a vigorous and healthy constitution.
I nave simply called your attention to two parts of my body that can be ecjualled and perhaps bettered by anyone who so desires. Remember, what I hnve done for myself—you can do for yourself —it is just up to you.
There is only one way to got rnpid results fro^n exercising and that is to exercise the riglit way.
