Twisted cables - right twist (RT)

Single stitehes can be twisted over each other without using a cable necdle. As in cables, two knit stitehes can be cabled to the right or the left. Twisted stitehes can also be crossed (one knit stitch moving over a purl stitch) to the right or left.

1 Insert right-hand needle into second stitch on left-hand needle and knit it Don't slip this stitch off the needle.

2 Knit the first stitch on the left-hand needle and slip both stitehes on to the right-hand needle.

Twisted cables - left twist (LT)

Crossed stitehes - cross right (G-2R)

1 Insert nght-hand needle into second stitch on the left-hand needle and knit it. Dont slip this stitch off the needle.

Crossed stitehes - cross left (Cr2L)

Place mat and coastcr knitted in a worsted (DK) wool yam on $ize 6 (4mm/UK8) ne^dles. See page 133 for pattem.
