Many uthletes who pcrform in public, cx-hibit the feat of chain brcaking. The strain upon both nerves and muscles, when the links o( the chain liave not been tampered with, is especially scvere. A goud exercise, good for both muscles and lungs, may be had from this. For instance, take a fuli deep breath, hołd it, and then lean forward in the position sliown on the oppositc page, and go through the motions of breaking a chain or ropę. Rest a tnoment and then repeat, being careful not to overdo it.
