The best knitting yams are madę from natural fibres.Tweeds for a cosy country look. thick yams for warmth in the great outdoors and styfish yams for urban wear.Try using smali amounts of tapestry wools for their great rangę of colours in fair isle or for embroidery. Every one of these adorable bags was knitted in basie stockinette (stocking) stitch (see pages 18-23) and measures 4in (lOcm) sąuare, but the varying ehoices of yam and needle size have resulted in very different effeets. See page 152 for the fuli pattem and details of trimmings.
