Special Precautions

Removal | Instailation

1.    tnsure carnsnan sprocKet timing marKs angnea [t>\.

2.    Fit timing belt to crankshaft sprocket and auxiliary shaft sprocket.

3.    Temporarily fit crankshaft pulley (with one bolt).

4.    Ensure timing mark on crankshaft pulley aligned with mark on auxiliary shaft sprocket [13].

NOTĘ: DO NOT use auxiliaiy shaft spiocket timing maik labelied 'OT' [14].

5.    Fit timing belt to tensioner pulley and camshaft sprocket.

NOTĘ: Ensure helt istaut between spiockets on non-tensioned side.

6.    Slacken tensioner bolt [10].

7.    Fit two-pin wrench [16]. Tool No.2537.

NOTĘ: Two-pin wiench locates in hole [19] and against iug [20]. When tuining two-pin wiench clockwise. the tensionei pulley will tum anti-clockwise and apply tension to belt.

3. Tum two-pin wrench clockwise [17] until piston [15] [A] is fully extended and piston [15] [B] has risen approximately 1 mm.

9. Lightly tighten tensioner bolt [10].

10.    Remove:

o Crankshaft pulley bolt (7). o Crankshaft pulley [3],

11.    Install:

o Timing belt lower cover [9]. o Crankshaft pulley [3], o Crankshaft pulley bolts [7],

12.    Lightly tighten crankshaft pulley bolts [7],

13.    Ensure timing mark on crankshaft pulley aligned (6).

14.    Tum crankshaft two turns clockwise. Ensure timing marks aligned (5] & [6].

15.    Remove distributor cap.

16.    Ensure distributor rotor arm aligned with mark for cylinder No.1 on distributor body (18).

17.    Check alignment of tensioner lever [15] [C] in relation to upper edge of piston [15] [B] as follows:

o [15] [D] - adjustment correct, o [15] [E] - wear area, re-adjust. o [15] [F] - check tensioner and re-adjust.

18.    When adjustment correct, dimension [15] [G] will be 25-29 mm.
