A needle at least 3.75cm (1 ‘/zin) in length. A well-rolished No. 14 knitting needle will do, although an \merican needle tool is better
For this card, the petals are madę from modified leaf -hapes. Use three shades of rhe same colour to achieve i better effect. You will need to quill the following: Flower CENTRE - one one-half-strip eye shape (pale - nade of paper)
Petals - four full-strip leaf shapes (dark shade)
- four full-strip leaf shapes (medium shade)
- rwo one-half-strip leaf shapes (pale shade)
- rwo one-quarter-strip leaf shapes (pale shade) Leaves - three one-half-strip leaf shapes
- one one-quarter-strip leaf shape Stem - a one-quarter-strip spiral
To make a spiral you must use a needle tool. Wrap the end of the paper around the needle and then come slightly off-centre. With the thumb and finger of the right hand guiding the paper, turn the needle with the leff hand, thus creating a spiral ropę. You will find that ar some stage the spiral comes off the top of the needle. Do not worry; this is quite normal, so just carry on.
Make up the flower, with its stalk attached at the flower head, on the quilling board. Apply glue to the flower head, and also apply smali dots of glue along the of the spiral away from the and. then bend the spiral Hołd it in place until
