Blank greetings card Heart-shaped cotton paper casting 3mm (Vsin) ąuilling paper White pearlised ink Victorian scrap (optional)
You will need to quill the following:
Centre - twenty-four one-eighth-strip C-shapes - one one-eighth-strip peg
Outer EDGE - thirty-four one-eighth-strip S-shapes (half of which should be reversed-S-shapes)
This is another example of mixing and matching crafts. The background heart shape is part of a cotton paper casting, which is madę by shredding special cotton pulp in water and then pressing it into a terracotta mould until dry. The resulting casting is lightweight and can easily be glued on. I cut out the central piece of the moulding and also the shaped edging, leaving just the embossed heart shapc. I then painted this with white pearlised ink. In the centre I have put a Victo-rian scrap, but you could just as well cut out a flower from a card or a piece of wrapping paper.
Glue the cotton paper casting to the card with all-purpose or tacky glue (applied to the edges only) and then glue the scrap into position. Now apply the quilling, the C-shapes around the inner edge of the heart and the S-shapes around the outer edge.
