Non-specific technique to increase ventral flexion with rotation and lateral flexion to the right.
P supine.
3.3.IB.
Starting Position: P: Supine; head and neck beyond end of couch; cervical spine in ventral flexion; shoulders and thorax may be stabilized with a belt.
T: Standing at head of couch, facing obliąue to P’s right side.
Grip: Ts left hand grips the left side of P’s occiput, and stabilizes it against T’s trunk. T’s right forearm lies across P’s chest, with the right hand gripping P's left shoulder to stabilize it against the couch.
Fig. 23 a. Starting Position.
Procedurę: Using this grip, T applies traction, and then maintaining this traction, moves his /her body with P’s head to gradually and fully ventrally flex and simultaneously rotate and laterally flex P’s cervical spine to the right.
Stimulation of Antagonists: T retains grip. T then asks P to look and move his/her head further in the direction just stretched. T resists that move-ment to stimulate P’s antagonists.
