I On diagram on page xvii. plot heights of H W and LW oceurring cither side of requtred event and join by sloping linę.
II Enter HW limę and those for half-tidal cycle covering rcquired event
III From required height. proceed vertically to sloping linę. thence horizontal to curve for duration. interpolating as necessary betwcen curves on diagram.
IV Proceed yertically to limę scalę. Read off time.
