Yalerie hasfound afun twist on the traditional birthday cake

AboveMilly is carrying on the family tradition of stitching royal samplers

Turtle eggs

l’m loving the new style CrossStitcher, especially the Sawy Stitcher section. I also thought the patchwork turtle in issue 235 was very cute, so I madę 30 of them for my friends and family as Easter

presents. I sent them all with egg cups and chocolate eggs, and everybody seemed really pleased with them. I thought you might like to see my finished turtle mountain. Joannę Riley, Shetland

Royal salute

Thank you, thank you for the Royal Wedding sampler in issue 238.1’ve had my eye out for one that wasn’t too big or old-fashioned ever sińce the engagement was announced, and this Jacąui Pearce design fitted the bill perfecdy. My mother created her own design for Charles and Diana’s wedding back in the 80s, so minę (above) will now be an heirloom for the next generation. I think we’ve started a family, tradition now!

thought it would be a fun gift idea to stitch some little badges and make them into mini cupcakes to present them in bags. I used charts from issue 238, and the size was perfect, as you can see. I’ve done others for new baby and engagement gifts too. My friends love them!

Woofwoof!

Many thanks for such a fantastic design in issue 235.1 loved the colourful sausage dog cushion so much that I had to stop everything and start it (above, right). I finished the stitching a few weeks ago and it sat in my ‘done’ pile for ages until I managed to get the sewing machinę out and make the cushion. I’m no dressmaker, and only know the basics of using my machinę, but I ftnally completed this wonderfol project last week
