Cleaning your wood floors is best done only occasionally with warm water and a drop of dish soap. Be surę your rag is only damp. Wipe or scrub. use another rag to rinse. then a dry rag to buff your surface clean.
Wood floors will avoid the streaky look when you add about 55ml/1AI cup vinegar to your pail of water. Be surę to wring your mop out well so as not to over-wet the floor.
To clean and polish wood floors. dilute one cup of citrus oil in mtrs/1 galion hot water. Use a sponge mop and mop floor. For heavy dutyjobs. do not dilute.
Metal cleaners and polishes are different for each metal - just as in commercial cleaners. A universal method to get rid of rust from metals is to soak items in undiluted vinegar.
Clean aluminium with a solution of cream of tartar and water.
To clean brass mix equal parts salt and flour with a little vinegar. then rub.
To brighten brass surfaces. rub with a cloth dampened with olive oil after cleaning. This will keep the brass from tarnishing.
To clean chrome rub with undiluted vinegar. Polish chrome with baby oil. vinegar, or aluminium foil shiny side out.
A simple way to clean copper is to rub with lemonjuice and salt, or hot vinegar and salt. Clean morę tamished copper by boiling the article in a pot of water with 1 tablespoon salt and 225/1 cup white vinegan or try differing mixtures of salt. vinegar baking soda. lemonjuice. and cream of tartar.
