SPRINGTIME

Color begins with naturę, and naturę is what all our personal color memories and reactions have in common. Springtime is purposely a nostalgie design, drawing you towards colors which recall places once known, gardens and flowers remembered. Its colors remind us of other times, perhaps colors of childhood places or of gardens and forests which left impressions that seem to stay forever. The use of such sentimental colors inspires feelings and moods which can evoke powerful insights.

As the ąuality of color depends on the quality of light illuminating it, a bargello lampshade reąuires particular attention. Objects that are brightened at night need deeper, stronger colors to offset the yellowing effect of light bulbs. Such density of color has the power to transform the smallest space into a vibrant and enriching ambience.

Here the background consists of subtle shadings of olive green, reminiscent of maturę olives growing on trees, evoking feelings of harmony with naturę in a simple, modest way. Essentially a dark color, olive green is a muted tonę consisting of warm yellow and green. Its dense earthy hues are a superb background for the brighter, luxurious colors of the surrounding flowers.

The Springtime lampshade is a subtle statement about incorporating past memories into present time, integrating the warmth held in one’s heart with everyday activities. Its design addresses the acceptance of seasons and change, of cherishing flowers in fuli bloom while honoring the ever-present shadow of deep green.
