Reguirements of magnetic compass for lifeboats/rescue boats

H.1 Scope

This annex spedfies the spedal requiremente of the magnetic compass for lifeboats/rescue boats except a main part ofthis standard prescribing.

H.2 Requirements of magnetic compass for lifeboats/rescue boats

The magnetic compass for lifeboats/rescue boats shall satisfy the requirements for the Class B magnetic compass specrtied in the main part ofthis standard, and also shall fulfil the following requirements.

H.2.1 Diameterof the cards

The ctiameter of the compass card for binnacles of type A2 shall not apply 4.4.2, but shall be 70 mm or morę.

H.2.2 Width of lubber mark(s)

The width of the rubber mark(s) shall not apply B.3.5.3, but shall be 1/4 or less of card scalę width.

The exammation may be carried out by visual inspection.

H.2.3 Environmental condition test of magnetic compasses

For compasses in lifeboats/rescue boats require IEC 60945 testing: Dry Heat, Damp Heat, Low Temperaturę, ^brafion, Solar Radiation, and Corrosion.
