Make and respond to requests
8 3.25 Ask Ss to read through the conversation and then to listen to and repeat it.
They should then practise in closed pairs, trying to use a lively intonation, particularly when making the request. Read through the examples and ask Ss to repeat them chorally and individually.
9 Ss will probably benefit from writmg out their reguests individually, and then turning to a partner and making them orally. Their partner can respond in whatever way they wish. Pairs then change roles so that they have a chance to request and respond to requests.
