A watch belonging to Pope John Paul II was the top seller at a charity auction of famous people's timepieces last week, attracting a winning bid of PLN 50,000. The gold-and-steel Eberhard Swiss piece was followed by more than a dozen other celebrity watches, raising almost PLN 100,000 for a Krakow children's clinic. Among the others, skijumper Adam Malysz's Tissot timepiece brought PLN 1,500, while watches belonging to Olympic walking gold medallist Robert Korzeniowski and tenor Jose Carreras - PLN 800 each.
