1) awareness: stiidents have been introduced to the stmcture and they do a task that focuses their attention on its form or meaning. Stiidents are given extracts from newspapers and tliey are asked to find and underline all the examples of a eertain tense.
2) controlled drills: learners produce examples of stmctures which are however predetermined by the teacher or textbook e.g. they have to write or say statements about John modelled on the example: John drinks tea bud doesn’t drink coffee.

6) (structure based) discourse composition: learners hołd discussion or write a passage according to given stmcture (task) e.g. they are directed to include modals
7) free discourse: no specific directions to use structure
