Jako przy kład analizy LSA pokażemy zastosowanie jej do zadania automatycznego grupowania 75 tytułów książek z wydawnictwa SIAM pobranych z katalogu na rok 2010. Należą one do dwóch grup tematycznych: „Control & Systems Theory" oraz „Statistics". Zamieszczono je w tabeli 8. Ilustracja analizy LSA na przykładzie grupowania a nie wyszukiwania informacji jest uzasadniona tym, że przedstawiane dalej zadanie tworzenia podsumowań jest koncepcyjnie bardziej zbliżone do grupowania.
