students of the Institute of Education at CUL. The next speech was given by the Jubilat himself who directed a few emotional sentences at the audience: his former and present friends, colleagues and students, which was followed by an act of handing Jubi-larian Jubilee Book by the Faculty of Social Sciences, Catholic University of Lublin. During the following part of the benefit a movie Master - student, directed by Hanka Burlińska and Jolanta Mazur was present-ed. Performance by the group Scholares Pro Musica Antiąua Minores ( from Poniatów ) under the direc-tion of Witold i Maria Danielewicz was an artistic summary of the ceremony.

The organized conference, through selecting the topie of mastery as its main agenda, enabled the presentation of the universal naturę of the above-mentioned phenomenon. Ali presented pa-pers showing the variety of possible interpreta-tions, and the levels of the discourse on mastery, have drawn attention to the factthat itis a principle of the development of educational theory and prac-tice. The conference was a place of exchange of ide-as both on a national and international level, where young researchers sat side by side with experts in the field of social Sciences. Such formula of a conference helped to tighten the cooperation between the Institute of Education, Catholic University, and oth-er national and foreign scientific centers. It should also be noted that participation in the conference raised for many participants a belief in the need to continue the subject undertaken in the framework of the next meeting sessions.
