UBRARIANSHIP IN DENMARK ^

In the report from the practice in Danish libraries of students of the Institute of Library and Information Science of the Warsaw University, the following topics weTe discussed: the organization and program of the Royal School of Librarianship in Copenhagen and its branch in Aalborg; the central institutions: State Inspec-torate of Public Libraries which constitutes an agenda of the Ministry of Culture and the Danish Library Bureau, which publishes a national bibliography and acts as the main methodical and referral centre; the work of public libraries, their buildings and eąuipment. The Royal Library in Copenhagen, which together with the University Library in Copenhagen plays the role of the national library, the State Library in Aarhus and the Danish Technological Library in Copenhagen are the largest scientifdc libraries. The University Library in Aalborg is the most modern, well organized and eąuipped one. Terminals of information systems, connected with one of the European- or American information centres, are in common use in scientific libraries. In generał, the level of Danish libraries is very high, though one could not agree with all their practical Solutions.
