K.R. Foster Eternal Flakefall [2]
Eternal Flakefall
For the Kloseteers, my verbal sparring partners.
TALVI stared at the wall of ice opposite his throne, lips
shifting into a frown as the insults and hatred continued to
bombard him. Only the denizens of Earth would be foolish
enough to repeatedly insult one of the most powerful beings
in existence: a Weather God.
His sisters received nothing but love and praise. While,
he, Winter he sneered at the name; the humans on Earth
had no taste garnered nothing but hatred.
The man displayed on the wall of ice was large, husky,
and shorter than the average mortal. His coat was white,
puffy, and he resembled one of those human sweets a
marshmallow! That was it. While that might have amused
Talvi, the man s comments didn t.
Blasted bad weather. Four feet of snow& ridiculous!
Spring can t come fast enough.
Irritated, Talvi waved his hand imperiously. The man
melted away and became a woman: tall, slender, wearing a
red coat that fell to her knees and boots with dangerously
high heels. She skidded on a patch of ice, and barely caught
herself on a lamppost.
I hate winter! she hissed, painted lips curling with
blatant disgust.
K.R. Foster Eternal Flakefall [3]
Gritting his teeth, Talvi moved onto the next human,
and the next, and the next. It never failed to amaze and
horrify him how the humans on Earth differed from the
living beings on the other worlds he watched over.
As children, the Earth humans always seemed excited
when it was his turn to rule Earth. They got to stay home
from school, have snowball fights, make angels, and all those
other silly things children did. They d stay out in the snow as
long as they could, press their cheeks against frost-
decorated windows, and whisper about how much they
wanted to see him again tomorrow.
But when the children grew up, they forgot all of that.
Their love for him turned to irritation and then anger. His
gifts became a nuisance. Now they had to warm up their
cars, scrape windows, shovel sidewalks, and so on. He was
no longer welcome.
Lips that had once praised him spewed nothing but
spiteful words year after year.
The wall to his right showed Startyllm. It was the planet
he felt most fond of; he always ruled it. Some planets only
had one season, one ruler, where others had many. The
people on Startyllm never cursed his name. Their lips
caressed it lovingly; they were properly thankful for the
many blessings he gave them.
The stark comparison made the humans of Earth fall
into the spotlight for the first time. He d allowed them to
skirt the edge of disrespect for far too long. He would not
allow it another year. Once this season ended, he would
break the tie he had with Earth.
K.R. Foster Eternal Flakefall [4]
It was time for the humans to learn their place. To learn
one of the most basic truths in the universe: there was no
life without death or rest.
What mortal could live always, with no respite, no sleep?
He d never seen one, not on any world he d bonded with.
Even the humans, themselves, required sleep each day. Yet
they ignored that Earth was as alive as they were& and even
worlds grew tired.
Let them find a way to cope, he murmured, lips
curling in a smirk, without the aid of rest. Let the little
humans how did it go? ah, yes, reap what they have
sown.
Honestly, Talvi would have been content to sever the
connection immediately, but that would be impolite. His
eldest sister, Swyla, did not expect to assume control for a
month yet, and he would not force the task upon her
because of the hated humans. She deserved a rest from
them as well, despite their love for her.
He spared a brief thought for his siblings, but knew they
would have plenty of time to adjust their rules as they would
once he announced his abandonment of Earth.
Abandonment& it felt like the perfect word. I shall abandon
them, as they have abandoned me.
Grinning, he leaned back in his throne and stretched
his arms and back victoriously. It might seem petty, but
there were no rules against that. Few rules governed his life,
and nothing forbade him from severing ties with an
ungrateful world.
He would have no regrets in one month s time when& .
K.R. Foster Eternal Flakefall [5]
 You re back.
Talvi s head jerked up, sending ice-blue hair spilling
about his face and kissing his cheekbones.
 I ve missed you.
Long, slender fingers clutched the armrests of his
crystalline throne as he stared at the wall of ice that showed
him Earth.
One month is never enough time. It s not fair.
The low, smooth voice sent shivers down his spine and
caused the flesh between his legs to twitch with interest
something that rarely happened. With as long as he d lived,
not much captured Talvi s attention anymore.
Waiting for classes to end was torture.
Soft pink lips pressed against a perfectly sculpted
snowball that was held lovingly in two warm, bare hands.
Talvi felt the ghost of a kiss against his cheek and heard his
breath hitch.
All I wanted was to come out here and welcome you
back.
Falling snowflakes landed and melted in hair so pale a
blond it could only be described as platinum. Chill winds
blew it about the young man s face, caressing snow white
skin as trite as it sounded flushed with pleasure.
After I graduate I m going to attend college somewhere
where it snows for months and months, instead of just one if
I m lucky.
Talvi didn t remember moving, but his fingers stroked
the ice wall, right over the slightly flushed cheek. The words
K.R. Foster Eternal Flakefall [6]
bit into him like the coldest of blizzards. One of the few rules
he couldn t break involved interfering with his sister s
weather patterns and climates. Some geographical regions
always belonged to one of them always. Others they shared
at intervals.
He would have ensured it always snowed in Arizona, if
he could.
The boy s tawny eyes shone with absolute delight as he
cradled the snowball in his hands. He dodged around the
other humans his age, but never threw the snowball as the
others did. This was his yearly ritual: a snowball made from
the first snow, greeted and loved, then carefully placed in the
freezer, so he d always have it.
Then, Winter, we ll be together, the boy breathed, for
months at a time. It ll be perfect!
White teeth flashed in a brilliant smile, and the snow
paled in comparison, as it always did. This human was the
only reason he d dealt with the criticism and verbal abuse all
these years& .
Blake! Another human, this one as dark as the young
man was pale, swung an arm over his shoulder. What ve
you got there?
Talvi s eyes narrowed in a vicious glare, but that faded
when Blake immediately pulled away from the overly tactile
human male.
My snowball, Blake replied as he held it protectively.
Man, another one? I don t think Ms. Fallon will let you
keep another one. We need room in the freezer for food,
man.
K.R. Foster Eternal Flakefall [7]
Blake winced and glanced away. I spent my allowance
on a small freezer I can put in my room, he mumbled.
Talvi stared in disbelief. He knew had always known,
ever since he d saved the boy s life as a child on a whim
that Blake loved the snow, but he also knew that, as an
orphan, Blake had very little money.
The dark male burst into laughter. You re kidding,
right? We hardly get enough money to buy new, popular
clothes. You couldn t afford a mini-freezer unless you d saved
your allowance for years and&
Whatever else the boy said didn t sound through the
throne room, because Blake broke into a sprint. If he d been
mortal, the sight of people and scenery rushing by might
have made Talvi dizzy, but he wasn t mortal and had no
trouble distinguishing his favorite subject s path.
A sheet of snow flew through the air as Blake skidded to
a stop in the park near the orphanage he lived in. He padded
over to the snow-covered swings and sat down on one
without flipping it over. The blue coat covering him was old,
worn, and hung slightly past his butt.
Any other mortal would have been foolish to stay in the
cold with such poor protection, but Blake wasn t any mortal.
After saving Blake s life though, admittedly, he d thought
the boy was called Flake, like a snowflake, which is why
Talvi originally spared him (that and his pale coloring), of
course Talvi had gifted him with immunity to diseases and
ailments that attacked mortals during his reign. Flu, colds,
pneumonia none of these would ever touch the person who
loved him the most.
He repaid loyalty in kind.
K.R. Foster Eternal Flakefall [8]
Then, as he had every year since Talvi had saved him,
Blake told him everything that had happened while they
were apart. As always, the painful knowledge that he could
only view places where snow and ice were present tore at
Talvi; it kept him from Blake much too long.
I turned eighteen last month. Ms. Fallon and the boys
threw me a party. It was nice, he whispered, but not
perfect. I prayed every night for a month that you d visit on
my birthday. Tawny eyes shone with disappointment, and
Talvi felt his breath catch in his throat. Blake shook his
head, sending fair hair fluttering about his face. But you re
here now, and that s all that matters.
Blake tilted his head back, extended his tongue, and
captured snowflakes.
The sight caused Talvi s erection to harden even further.
To know that Blake had consumed a part of him, taken it
into the warm cavern of his mouth& he shuddered. Blake
was the first being to bring heat into his frigid world in
several millennia.
As Blake continued to speak, his soothing voice
detailing his adventures, Talvi felt peace avalanche through
him and settled back on his throne to listen. A flick of his
wrist blanked the other walls, ensuring he d have no
distractions.
He focused on the moving lips, imagining them moving
against his, against him. He didn t tune out the soft words
either. Blake gave him something no one, no matter who
they were or where they were from offered him: equality.
On the various worlds he governed, he was a god. His
subjects all praised his name (discounting Earth s
K.R. Foster Eternal Flakefall [9]
inhabitants), and spoke of him in reverence. Among the
other gods, he was superior. An Elemental God, such as the
four Weather Gods, could overpower any of the others if they
so wished. And even among his siblings, he was the eldest,
the most powerful; his sisters loved him, but he was set
apart glorified.
The human named Blake who d been found by
policemen in that very same park on a storm-filled night
treated him like an equal. Blake respected him, obviously,
and treated his gifts with care, but never acted as if he were
inferior. Blake possessed the sense of self to speak to Talvi
as if they were the same.
The yearly updates came from Blake s heart, as if he
had to share the truth with his dearest friend and confidant.
Formal phrases and vows didn t spill from his lips, and
the lack of pretentious posturing made them all the more
lovely.
Blake s legs twitched, sending the swing into motion as
he continued speaking to the snowball, a delighted smile on
his face. This boy without a last name& or perhaps a first
when asked his name, all he knew was Blake, though it
had sounded like Flake all those years ago because of his
stuttering cold lips wanted nothing from him, and merely
enjoyed his presence.
Not because Talvi could control the weather, cause
miracles, or better his life& simply because Talvi was there.
No one else had ever made him feel like that before.
Considering he d existed for, well, eternity& that made
for a very lonely existence.
K.R. Foster Eternal Flakefall [10]
A flash of blue pulled him back to the present as Blake
jumped off the swing, twisting to land on his back in the
massive pile of accumulated snow, so that he wouldn t
squish his snowball. The hood had covered the back of his
head, preventing the snow from soaking into his beautiful
hair. Talvi felt an irrational flare of hatred as he stared at the
material.
How dare it come between them?
And severing your ties to Earth won t prevent contact?
his conscience mocked. Enjoy your time while it lasts,
because you ll never get to see Blake again.
The right arm on his throne shattered to pieces beneath
his grip, slivers of ice burrowing into his skin and then
melting. The skin sealed shut instantly, but he didn t repair
the damage to his throne.
He couldn t think. Not with that horrid thought in his
head, demanding his attention.
You already decided to break the connection, and such
choices cannot be unmade. You ve forsaken Earth, it taunted.
But not Blake, he said aloud. I d never forsake Blake.
Talvi took a shuddering breath and flicked his hand, throne
once again pristine. He left it and strode forward to stroke
the smiling face, though he could feel nothing but smooth
ice.
Talvi swallowed roughly and sent a request pinging
down the connection to his mother and father. Only they
could grant him his dearest wish. He d always been a good
son: obedient, mindful of his powers, respectful, loving.
Hopefully they would
K.R. Foster Eternal Flakefall [11]
His father materialized out of the refracting light in the
room, a shining golden being in every manner of the word.
 Son.
Father. He inclined his head and waited for but a
moment.
Talvi s mother melted out of the shadows, and was the
exact opposite of his father. She was the Goddess of
Darkness and his father was God of Light.
My son. She floated forward and embraced him, cold
to the touch, as she d always been. He took after her in
power, as his sisters mimicked their father.
He breathed a sigh of relief and leaned into her.
 Mother.
She pulled away only far enough to feather long, black
fingers through his hair. What do you need, dear?
Words clogged his throat, fighting for escape, but not
getting freedom. In his entire life, he d never asked his
parents for anything. He was fiercely independent,
determined to work hard and learn what he needed to know
through effort and time, of which he had plenty.
But this& they hadn t denied his sisters, though. So
why would they deny him?
This is him? his father asked, eyes focused on the
viewing wall.
Talvi flushed slightly and flicked his hand, attempting to
send the image of Blake, spread out in the snow blissful and
happy, away, but his mother s hand stayed the gesture.
K.R. Foster Eternal Flakefall [12]
Is this the Flake who s made you fall? she asked, voice
perfectly level.
Blake, he corrected gently. He stared up into tawny
eyes and couldn t control the smile that spread across his
face. Warmth crashed through him, more powerful than
before, and he welcomed it with an open heart.
And what do you want with him? his father asked.
Gulping down all the erroneous words that fought for
his tongue, Talvi said, I want to keep him.
 For how long?
This, Talvi knew, would be the hardest question to
answer. Not because he didn t know it, but because
vocalizing such a sentiment was dangerous. Time could
mean very little or everything to a god, and, in this case, he
knew it would mean everything.
For an evening? his mother inquired. She tilted her
head to the side, her ebony hair sweeping across the floor.
 He is lovely.
The thought of spending an evening with Blake, alone,
in bed, made his loins tremble and desire attack him like
frostbite. That wasn t all that he wanted. He forced his lips to
move. No.
For a season, then? his father asked.
That wouldn t be nearly enough time. No.
A year? He might be entertaining that long.
The moment his mother said entertaining the dam in
his throat shattered beneath the combined assault of the
K.R. Foster Eternal Flakefall [13]
many words and emotions that demanded acknowledgement.
Blake s not entertainment, Talvi hissed.
 Then what is he?
 Mine!
For how long? He s mortal, you know. He s going to
die.
For eternity! Talvi cried, feeling as if his mind were
breaking. Blake couldn t die. That s what this was about!
They were here so Blake couldn t die& .
 Ah!
He turned to face his father, unable to bear looking at
his mother after all those hateful words. What? he choked
out.
You want your Flake for eternity, his father said, smug
grin on his face.
Talvi didn t bother correcting him. His father always did
such things just to tease him, though he certainly wasn t in
the mood for this game. Not with the words he s going to
die still echoing inside his head.
Of course I do, he whispered. How could he not? Blake
loved him, cared for him, accepted him for what he was&
well, mostly. Blake didn t know about the whole Weather
God thing yet, but Talvi knew he d find acceptance in the
mortal s heart.
That s all we needed to know, dear. You have our
blessing, his mother said to his back. By the time he d spun
around to hug her, both she and his father had vanished.
K.R. Foster Eternal Flakefall [14]
His eyes locked with Blake s through the ice wall,
though he was the only one of them who knew it. Blake
kissed the snowball, unaware Talvi felt it, and then
whispered, I love you. This year, now that Blake was finally
old enough (even gods had rules about that), Talvi allowed
himself to absorb the words instead of letting them wash off
him.
As do I, he said, fingers caressing Blake s icy lips.
Soon enough he d touch them with his, and they d be warm.
I m coming for you, he promised.
The smile on Blake s face widened, as if he d heard the
words, though it was impossible.
And you ll be mine. For eternity.
WATER dripped from a single icicle on the roof of the
orphanage, falling to melt the snow. Drip. Drip. Drop. Drip.
Then, between one moment and the next, Talvi materialized
between the drops of water.
The snow flared around him, rising to drift about like a
grand cloak. The chill winds roared, feathering through his
hair. Snowflakes kissed his skin, and frost nipped his
extremities. They were his loyal followers, his powers, his to
guide and use wisely.
As if aware of his presence, Blake appeared at the
window of the second floor bedroom on the right hand side.
The tawny eyes shone with excitement, pleasure, and a
subtle sense of knowing.
K.R. Foster Eternal Flakefall [15]
Mere moments later, Blake vanished and reappeared
before him in the snowy backyard, barefoot and coatless.
The puffy clouds of breath stirred the air as Blake hurried
closer, then slid to a stop right before him.
Talvi would never forget the moment the slight hope in
Blake s eyes flared viciously into a raging bonfire: their eyes
had just met. Though he might look like a mortal, Talvi knew
his eyes would give him away every time if he didn t change
them: hoarfrost gray, with falling snowflakes in his irises.
Hands trembling, though not from the cold (as he was
immune), rose to brush against Talvi s cheek. You listened.
Talvi nodded. He saw Blake s chest hitch, and ached to feel it
pressed against his. You came.
How could I not? Talvi asked softly, one eyebrow
raised at the impossibility of such an outcome. The mortal
had captured his attention as an innocent child, and his
interest had grown decidedly less innocent as the boy
reached a proper age.
The question, though, was not as simple as that. Talvi
was a god, not a fool. He knew there were other realms,
alternate versions of himself& ones who didn t know Blake.
The thought made him ill, but infinitely grateful to the
universe that he knew Blake, and always would from this
point on.
There was no word to describe how fortuitous it was
that he governed this universe. A universe where his mother
and father approved of him falling for Flake.
Blake closed the remaining distance, burrowing against
his body trustingly. With their skin touching, Talvi could feel
the overwhelming love pouring out of Blake and into him.
K.R. Foster Eternal Flakefall [16]
The power he d used to save the boy years ago had formed a
minimal bond between them, and he intended to nourish it
into its final form: immortality.
How long can you stay? Blake asked.
An hour, Talvi replied. That was another of the rules
he could not change. If he stayed on any planet longer than
one hour per year, his presence would completely destroy
the climate pattern. It would cause an instant ice age.
Blake s hands scrabbled at his back, fingers curling in
his shirt tightly. That s it?
That s it. Talvi bit his tongue to keep his feelings to
himself. The rules in this case were clear: if Blake wanted to
stay with him, Blake would have to ask. It had to be his
decision entirely, with no thoughts or ideas planted in his
head. No suggestions. No requests. No promises of eternal
love.
Will I see you again? Blake asked, tears leaking from
his eyes. If Talvi had his way, any future tears would be
snowflakes, though he hoped Blake would never again have
cause to weep.
This is the last year I ll govern Earth. My connection
will snap when the month ends, he confessed. Perhaps it
was better this way. If Blake never asked& he wouldn t have
to see him again and know he wasn t
Leaning backward, Blake met his eyes. Can I& can
I& ?
Please ask! Talvi willed the sentiment to appear in his
eyes and could only hope that Blake would understand. This
wasn t forbidden, but it wasn t encouraged either.
K.R. Foster Eternal Flakefall [17]
Take me with you! Blake begged, lips quivering.
Please, Winter, take me with you! He dove back forward
and clung tighter than any snowball had ever been packed.
Finally! Talvi wrapped his arms around Blake
possessively, vowing that he would never allow him to
escape. Then, disliking that, he swore he d never give Blake a
reason to want to escape.
Only immortals can live where I do.
 But
Leaning down, Talvi licked up Blake s throat. Let me
make you immortal.
 How?
He ran his hands lightly over Blake s butt and squeezed
meaningfully.
Oh! Blake flushed a delightful shade of red, and then
nodded. Yes. With you, anything.
Then hold on. He gathered Blake more closely in his
arms, if that were at all possible, and then they melted into
the snow and reappeared on a field of ice and snow.
It s beautiful, Winter, Blake breathed out in frosty
puffs as he glanced around, awe easily visible on his face.
Talvi, he corrected gently. And yes, it is.
Talvi, Blake repeated immediately, tongue caressing
the word as if he were tasting it like the snowflakes he d
devoured earlier that same day. It fits.
 Yes, it will.
K.R. Foster Eternal Flakefall [18]
As Blake turned a deeper shade of red and spluttered,
Talvi flicked his wrist, turning their clothes into a cloud of
snowflakes that fell to the ground.
Blake fell silent, then lay down on the ground, desire
and hope and confusion and trepidation all battling in his
eyes. As long as fear remained absent, Talvi didn t mind.
Talvi was gifted with the glorious sight of his lover
spread out on the snow, waiting to receive him. His platinum
hair glistened in the fading sunlight. Blake s skin glittered
lightly, and the icy rainbows refracting around him made
Talvi shiver in desire.
He stepped forward into the light and allowed Blake s
eyes to peruse his bare flesh. He saw the blush that crept up
his mate s cheeks and the love and desire that began to
outshine everything else in Blake s eyes.
With quickening steps, Talvi walked over to join Blake.
He gazed down at the perfection before him, felt his breath
catch in his throat, and then gently lowered himself onto the
snow and lay down next to Blake.
Heat coursed through him, melting the frigid cage that
surrounded his heart.
He lay there, staring into his mate s eyes. As Blake s
eyes fluttered shut, he leaned forward and captured Blake s
lips. He teasingly brushed his lips over those beneath him,
before licking a path across Blake s lower lip. At Blake s
gasp, he slid his tongue into the hot, moist cavern presented
to him, fulfilling his earlier desire.
K.R. Foster Eternal Flakefall [19]
Talvi tasted where his snowflakes had been. Jealousy
surged through him at the thought, but he pushed it away,
reminding himself that they were part of him.
Only a god, the mental voice sneered, would be jealous
of himself.
He ignored it.
His tongue caressed Blake s. He ran his hands slowly
down Blake s back as he devoured his mouth. The whimpers
Blake was voicing made him shiver in desire, but there were
no hurried caresses or frantic kisses, not yet. He had enough
time to do this right. Blake deserved to know how much he
was loved and treasured, and Talvi intended to show him.
Talvi removed his lips from Blake s and placed gentle
kisses down the jawbone of Blake s face. He licked reverently
at the skin below his ear before traveling lower. His lips
attached themselves to Blake s neck and marked it
possessively. Blake s cry of pleasure was all the
encouragement he needed to repeat the act. He blew cool air
on the marks and watched in fascination as Blake s eyes
darkened to the color of whiskey.
Talvi. His name came out low, gravelly, and his
erection hardened in an instant.
Talvi shifted until he was lying over Blake and nudged
his legs so he could rest between them. He heard and echoed
the sharp gasp of delight when their erections met.
The feel of Blake trembling beneath him made him suck
in a sharp breath, and fight for control. When he had forced
his body back in line, he continued downward and carefully
nipped at the inside of Blake s thighs.
K.R. Foster Eternal Flakefall [20]
With a smirk, Talvi suddenly struck, swallowing Blake s
erection deep into his throat. Blake s hands buried
themselves in Talvi s hair and clutched him close, cries of
yes, please, more, love you falling from his lips and echoing
across the tundra.
Talvi willed snow into his hand and made it slippery,
slick, so he wouldn t damage his lover. As always, it obeyed
him. He massaged the virginal ring of muscle, watching as it
shivered and rippled.
With care, Talvi slowly inserted a finger into Blake s
body. He felt the slight tensing of muscles before Blake
relaxed. He worked the finger deeper into Blake, enjoying the
feeling of heat, and warmth that he received so unlike the
usual chill of his world, completely opposite, but just as
wonderful.
Talvi slowly worked more of his fingers deeper into his
mate until he found what he sought. He brushed his fingers
across Blake s prostate and smiled in satisfaction when he
heard the shout tear itself from his lover s throat.
He swallowed Blake as deep into his throat as he could
and hummed. Talvi! Blake came with a scream, filling his
mouth with copious amounts of seed.
Talvi swallowed all that he was given and then began to
lick Blake s spent erection, bringing it back to life. He
suckled and laved, and worked his three fingers against
Blake s prostate repeatedly. Then, finally, he lathered his
erection in snow-lubricant and slid up Blake s body,
claiming his mouth in a searing kiss that screamed of his
possession.
K.R. Foster Eternal Flakefall [21]
Talvi positioned Blake s legs around his waist and
poised himself at his mate s entrance. He locked eyes with
Blake and refused to look away as he pressed against the
opening. There was a slight resistance before he was granted
entry to his lover s body. He paused when the head of his
erection was inside the tight heat. Then, calling himself ten
kinds of a fool, he willed any pain away.
 Better? he asked softly.
Mmhmm, Blake mumbled, cheeks red with exertion
and eyes glazed with passion and contentment.
When the muscles relaxed, Talvi worked his erection
deeper into Blake s body until he bottomed out. He withdrew
for a moment, hating the separation no matter how minor
and then pressed forward and sank into the warmth of
Blake s depths.
Blake moaned. Ungh! There!
He thrust harder and deeper inside of Blake. The bliss
was unraveling his control. He reached forward and encased
Blake s erection in his palm, stroking it desperately. At that
moment Blake came screaming, Talvi!
Groaning in triumph, he released his seed into his
mortal lover s body, knowing it would set to work
immediately. When it finished its task, the bond would be
solidified, and Blake would be immortal and forever his.
As his climax tore through him, he felt the universe
open, just for a moment, and he connected with every
alternate version of himself. Some were bonded to other
goddesses, others still alone and bitter disbelieving love
would ever be theirs, while a few lucky others lay in this
K.R. Foster Eternal Flakefall [22]
same position: cock-deep inside an alternate Blake. Some
weren t orphans, some had dark hair, scars, and so forth,
but they were still Blake.
He d found this permanent bond in multiple universes;
he was the luckiest god who d ever lived. That was certain.
Talvi s still firm erection stayed buried inside his lover,
aiding the process, but he shifted to his side carefully and
pulled Blake against his chest. He watched as Blake s seed
vanished, eaten by the snow and ice encasing them.
The irritation was less this time, but still there. Blake,
every last part of him, belonged to Talvi. Mine! Mine! Mine!
the voice yelled at him. He didn t even think of disagreeing
with himself. Why should he? It was a universal truth, for
him and this Blake anyway.
Talvi gazed down into tawny irises that held falling
snowflakes. He couldn t look away, and he certainly didn t
want to. It was a sight he knew he d never tire of& and
eternity was an exceedingly long time. He knew that first
hand.
With a kiss to his mate s lips, Talvi willed them home.
