the collected papers among a serics of collaborators who would each stand for a specialized field and send back critical abstracts to the International Committee in charge of the bibliography.

Mr. Nunes proposcd to dividc the bibliographical work among the 5 Vice-Presidents. Thus, the information network would be complete from the geographical point of view and the financial burden cquitably distributed.

Mr. Schriever proposed to appoint a Sub-Commission to study the problem of a literaturę service.

The Chairman cailed on the following delegates to join this Sub-Commission:

Messrs. Banister (Chairman)

Taylor

Kjellman

Schriever

and on Dr. Petermann, proposed by Dr. von Moos and Mr. Lohmeyer.

Mr. Jakobson dcclared that his delegation had already pre-pared a report on the organization of a literaturę service which was at the disposal of the Sub-Committee as well of all delegates interested therein.

Mr. Rocha cnquired whether this Sub-Commission was to deal also with the question of classification methods, if so Mr. Rocha wished to join it.

Mr. Zeevaert proposed to issue periodicals on a national basis and trusted that subscriptions would finance them. More-over, Mr. Zecvaert stated that as far as Mexico was concemed, Authorities would grant financial help in this respect.

The Chairman stressed that in this event an cnquiry was to take place in order to be informed by the various National Committees of the exact number of subscriptions to be counted on in order to secure the necessary funds prior to issuing such periodicals.

The Meeting was interrupted for a quarter of an hour.

The Chairman then passed on to Section V—“International Conferences”, Art. 14. Four invitations had been received by the Executive Committee, i.e. from Great Britain, Mexico, Argentina and from Egypt.

The Chairman read Art. 15.

The Chairman then passed on to Art. 16 and declared that hitherto the Society had complied with its provisions. As to the Subject-Sections, any such sub-division would give rise to discussion and therefore should preferably remain unchanged.

Mr. Rocha reminded that the method of classification to be adopted had not yet bccn dccided upon.

Mr. Kjellman advised to choose the same method of classification for the bibliography as well as for the papers to be published. However, Mr. Kjellman opined that such provisions should not be retained in the Statutes.

Dr. Ruckli exposcd what he experienced in 1948 as a General Reporter for Subject Section I. Dr. Ruckli stated that this scction should be dividcd.

Mr. Rocha bclieved that one and the same classification method for both paper publications and bibliography, would hardly be convenient and insisted upon the necessity of having first a classification method for the bibliography.

Dr. von Moos proposed to set up a Sub-Committee com-posed of the 8 General Reporters for discussing the question parmi un grand nombre de collaboratcurs qui ne traiteraient chacun que leur propre domaine.
