NEW INTENSITY MEASUREMENTS AND ANALYSIS OF THE IN-FRARED SPECTRUM OF METHANE IN THE 3 /im REGION

New intensity measurements have been madę at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory from FTIR spectra recorded at Kitt Peak National Observatory. They have been used to improve the tnodeling of the spectrum of methane in the 3/im region. The isotopic species ⁿCH\ and ¹²CHą have been considered. The present work represents a continuation of previous works devotcd to the modeling of the linę positions of these molecules ⁰ . The theoretical model corresponds to a complete development of the transformed dipole moment through the second order of approximation. It involves all possible rovibrational interactions within the pentad system.
