Why are you interested in the position of Care Assistant?

I am interested in the position of care assistant because:

First of all I am willing to help other people, also I'm willing to learn new things what is more I like old/elderly people and I think we should respect this people, because they are someone's parents or grandpas. They have a life wisdom, and we can learn very much from them. Further more I have older mum, she's 63 years old.

Have you got any experience as a carer?

I have little experience as a carer, but I learn very quickly. A few years ago I helped one of my mother's friends. It was an older woman. I helped her with cleaning the flat, cooking meals, I also did shopping for her, but after 3 months her family took her to the residential home. ( I always called her “grandma” )

What do you understand by “abuse”?

I understand by “abuse” every form of physical and mental overuse people. Also I think that abuse is doing intentional emotional or psychical damage. For me abusing is very bad feature of character.

What would you do if a resident told you that someone has hurt them?

If a resident told me that someone has hurt them I would talk with the harmed person, I would ask how it happened, Who hurt this person and how and next I would inform my supervisors about the incident..

What skills do you have that would help you in your job as a Care Assistant?

I think I have a friendly approach also I have good interpersonal skills

I respect older people and their families

I HAVE patience for this people

I try to be sensitive at all times

What's more I can solve problems when they arrive

I also know basic hygiene standards

What standard of care should a resident expect from the staff?

A resident should expect from the staff patience, good behaviour, help in every activities if he needs it, respect for the elder people, sensitivities at all time, a willingness to help and learn. 

How would you communicate with residents with no verbal communication?

I would communicate with this person by showing some gesture, sign or I would give some signal OR simply I WRITE IT ON A PIECE OF PAPER!!

What you would expect to do during your morning if you were working with a client giving them personal care?

I would expect to help client with a washing and dressing up. Then preparing breakfast and if it is a necessary feeding him.

What would you check before bathing a resident?

Before bathing a resident I would check the health condition of this person and how cold or warm is the water? I would help to undress and dress the resident.

What would you do if you found a resident on the floor? ( hoist )

If I found a resident on the floor:

I would check his or her consciousness, breath,

I also would check is the person injured? I would ask is the resident suffer from vertigo.

Depending on the harmed resident answer I would help the person stand up or I would ask other qualified personnel for help.

What is “team work”?

I think that team work is cooperating with a group of people in order to achieve a goal. Team work is also good will to cooperate with others to gain the best result. It's also to compromise with other.

If I was to ask your previous employer about you what do you think they would say?

Truly speaking I don't know. Maybe that I am self-confident, I defend my believes and Ideas, that I was fulfil my duties and I communicated with clients easily

What are the duties of a care assistant?

in my opinion The duties of a care assistant include:

• Building up relationships with residents in order to gain an awareness of their all needs

• Working with the residents and other personnel professionals to develop a care plan for the residents

• Help residents with daily personal care such as washing, dressing and feeding

• Also cooking and preparing a meals for them

• Organising and supporting elder people during recreational activities.

I'm very very sorry but something is constantly disconnecting us for a few seconds, and I cant hear you very well ? I don't know what is happening because I bought (bot ) this mobile phone two weeks ago. So it should work good.

Right now my passport is valid, but 2 weeks ago I applied for a new one.

I would like to receive for my work about 9 to 10 euro per hour.

I have a driving licence, but I don't have a car at the moment
