Assume you will design a hyperspectral scanner sensitive to radiation in the 400
to 900 nm region. The instrument will carry 288 bands with a spectral resolu-
tion (bandwidth) of 1.8 nm. Thus this configuration result in spectral overlap
between the bands?

Answer

900 - 400 = 500/288 = 1.73 µm or 500/1.8 = 278 bands. Therefore, there is no
overlap.
