Directional Contactor Retro-Fit
For units prior to B174H03008U experiencing intermittent loss of traction due to contaminated tips, a new
directional contactor is now available to resolve this problem. Some minor wiring changes and mounting
modifications will have to be made to use the new contactor assembly. Follow the instructions below.

1. Remove the current GE directional contactor assembly, be sure to retain the self tapping mounting screws.
2. Locate the Curtis directional contactor assembly as shown in the above picture.
3. Drill two 1/4 inch mounting holes and use the self taping screws to mount the contactor assembly.
4. Clip off the ring terminal ends from directional control wiring (wires 6, 6A, 8, 8A, 24 and 25).
5. Crimp on the new spade terminal ends onto control wiring (wires 6, 6A, 8, 8A, 24 and 25).
6. Hook up the main power cables as shown in above diagram.
