1. Application

Electromagnetic multi-voltage (230V or 240V) ballast for SON (-T),(Plus)/(Comfort) and
MHN/W 250W lamps. The ballast can be used together with an ignitor SK578/SKD578. The
ballast has to be used into a luminairs. How to connect the parts see circuit below.

2. Description ballast

Basic multi-voltage ballast with thermoswitch, mk4 EI75, stack height 90mm, 4 connector
terminals. Manufacturing process by HID-mechanization


3. General

General and safety requirement are according IEC 61347
Performance requirement are according IEC 60923.

Between the terminals “La(mp) and I(gnitor)” a voltage

of 162V±2V

Connect between terminals “L(ine)240V” and “La(mp)” a voltage of 254.4V 50Hz
Measure: I ballast < 5.40A
High voltage test: Between all the terminals and housing
1 minute 3000V 50Hz or 2 sec 3000V 3 KHz
