Cross Bar
1. Inspect the cross bar for damage that would structurally weaken it.
Plastic Pad
1. Inspect the plastic pad for damage that would appreciably affect its appearance or that would make the roof leak.
Slide Rail 1. Inspect the slide rail for damage that would structurally weaken it or cause the stanchion not to move,
Stanchion
1. Inspect the stanchion to ensure that the push button mechanism works properly.
2. Inspect the stanchion to ensure there is no physical damage.
REMOVAL
Cross Bar
1. Remove screw No. 1 from both slide rails.
2. Loosen screw No. 2 at both slide rails.
3. Raise the end of each rail (approximately 1/4 inch or 6 mm) to permit the end caps to be removed.
4. Remove the cross bar and stanchions from the rails.
5. Turn the cross bar and the stanchions upside down.
6. Remove one screw from each stanchion.
7. Remove the cross bar.
REMOVAL
Plastic Pad
1. Remove slide rail. Refer to “Slide Rail” in this section.
2. Remove the plastic pad.
REMOVAL
Slide Rail
1. Remove screw No. 1 from each side rail.
2. Loosen screw No. 2 at each side rail.
3. Raise the rail high enough (approximately 1/4 inch or 6 mm) to permit the end cap to be dropped far enough to be removed from the slide rail.
4. Remove screw No. 4 from both slide rails.
5. Loosen screw No. 3 at both slide rails.
6. Remove all four end caps.
7. Remove each cross bar and stanchion from the slide rail.
8. Remove screws No. 2 and No. 3 from the slide rail to be removed.
9. Remove the slide rail.
REMOVAL
Stanchion
1. Remove screw No.1
2. Loosen screw No. 2
3. Raise the end of the rail high enough (approximately 1/4 inch or 6 mm) to permit the end cap to be dropped far enough to be removed from the slide rail.
4. Remove the end cap.
5. Repeat steps 1, 2, and 3 in order to remove the end cap from the opposite slide rail.
6. Remove the cross bar with its stanchions from the slide rail.
7. Turn the cross bar and stanchion upside down.
8. Remove one screw from the stanchion to be replaced.
9. Remove the cross bar from the stanchion.
INSTALLATION
Cross Bar
1. Install the new cross bar into the stanchions.
2. Install two screws into the stanchions and into the cross bar.
Tighten screw to 2 lb · in (0.19 N · m)
3. Install the cross bar and stanchions onto both slide rails
4. Move stanchions to a detent.
5. Install both end caps.
6. Complete installation of screw No. 2 on each side.
Tighten one loosened screw on each side to 12 lb · in (1.4 N · m)
7. Install screw No.1 on each side.
Tighten one loosened screw on each side to 12 lb · in (1.4 N · m)
INSTALLATION
Plastic Pad
1. Align the plastic pad over the holes in the roof.
2. Position the slide rail on top of the plastic pad so that the holes line up.
3. Install slide rail. Refer to “Slide Rail” in this section.
INSTALLATION
Slide Rail
1. Position the new slide rail over the existing holes on top of the plastic pad.
2. Install screws No. 2 and No. 3 into the new slide rail.
3. Install both cross bars with stanchions.
4. Move stanchions to a detent.
5. Install all four end caps.
6. Install new load label.
7. Install screws No. 1 and No. 4
Tighten screws to 12 lb · in (1.4 N · m)
INSTALLATION
Stanchion
1. Install the cross bar into the new stanchion.
2. Install one screw into the stanchion and into the cross bar.
Tighten screw to 2 lb · in (0.19 N · m)
3. Install the cross bar and stanchions onto both slide rails.
4. Move stanchions to a detent.
5. Raise each rail and install both end caps.
6. Tighten screw No. 2 on each side.
Tighten screw No. 2 to 12 lb · in (1.4 N · m)
7. Install screw No. 1
Tighten screw No. 1 to 12 lb · in (1.4 N · m)
