DESCRIPTION This bulletin provides replacement procedure of the front door glass run on both sides. Symptom/Condition Some ceed (ED) vehicles might experience water entering, wind noise or glass run deformation caused by improper closing of the front door window. Cause Deformation to the glass run assembly. Countermeasure/Remedy Replace the front door glass run assembly (both sides) according to the service procedure below. SERVICE PROCEDURE
1. Verify that the vehicle is affected one by identifying the VIN from the VIN range.
2. Remove the quadrant inner cover (A) and disconnect the connector. Note) Take care not to scratch the door trim and other parts. Put on gloves to protect your hands.
3. After disconnecting the connector (B), loosen three screws and remove the outside rear view mirror.
4. Remove three plastic clips (C) from door trim and unscrew the bolts to loosen the trim. Remove the front door trim (D). Torque, 1,8 Nm (0,18 kgf.m, 3,98 lbf.ft)
5. Release the clips holding the door trim, remove the door trim by pulling it upward. Disconnect the power window switch, power mirror connector, and door courtesy lamp connector and trunk lid connector.
6. Remove the glass mounting hole plugs and lightly loosen the glass mounting bolts. (approx. 4 turns). Torque, 0,9~1,2 kgf.m (8,8~11,8 N.m, 6,5~8,7 lbf.ft) Note) Use the power window switch (E) to move the glass down until you can see the bolts through mounting hole (F).
7. Separate the glass from the glass run and carefully pull the glass out through the window slot. Note) Take care not to drop the glass and scratch the glass surface.
8. After loosening the door module mounting bolts (G), remove the door module. Torque, 0,8~1,2 kgf.m (7,8~11,8 N.m, 5,8~8,7 lbf.ft)
9. Insert the glass run trough the window slot (H) and correctly install the glass run all around the door frame (I). Note) Check proper installation of the glass run to prevent any water leakage into the vehicle.
10. Install back all removed parts in reverse of removal. 11. Repeat the procedure described above for the other side. Note) After completing this procedure, check for proper operation of power window switch, if the glass moves smoothly.
