TO: Commanding Officer
FROM: Captain Cendrowski
SUBJECT: Robbery from vehicle/stolen private car
DATE: 05th May, 2010
Introduction
The aim of this report is to inform about a robbery from a vehicle, registration number UCA X235.
Time and place
The car was parked at a service station near our unit. The robbery took place two days ago, 03rd may, 2010, at 10 o'clock in the evening.
Items stolen
A GPS system made by Motorola and modern CB radio made by Clarion were stolen from the vehicle. Inside the car were very important military maps. They were stolen too.
Circumstances
The vehicle was locked and the keys were given to the services man. The burglar alarm was turned on. At about 10 a.m. a service man noticed that the side window of vehicle was broken. The Police and duty officer were informed by service man and after 10 minutes they arrived. According to Police the side window was broken with a stone, which was found inside the vehicle.
Reasons
The main reason for the robbery was a broken-down burglar alarm. The second reason was not enough protection of the service station which was responsible for car.
Recommendation
I recommend check reading of security camera and send inform to the Military Police. In my opinion sending inform to the MP is necessary because it was military vehicle. Moreover, I recommended making any inspection of burglar alarms because they do not work properly. On the other hand the protection of the service station should be more effective.
