GAME I - Ask kids to draw Halloween words on cards - one picture per card. Ask kids to write a “not easy” definition of one of the Halloween words - give each kid a different word... (Option: read the above definitions for intermediate students) One kid reads his definition; others raise picture cards with Halloween words. Correct picture - one point.
GAME II - miming game - ask a student to mime a COSTUME he will wear at Halloween! Others guess.
Game III - DESCRIBE or “DIE” - kids draw and then choose various pictures of costumes, they have to describe the costume to the partner. The partner cannot see the picture, s/he draws according to the dictation / description. If they cannot describe the costume, the monster comes and eats them :-) (Slightly exaggerating)
This activity can go with Pinky's costume cards -

GAME IV - My Vampire Castle - kids close their eyes and describe the castle where the Vampire Dracula lives. Then they COMPARE the castle to their homes...
EG: Our bathroom is much nicer than Count Dracula's. My room is much warmer than his. Count Dracula's home is the oldest building in the country. Our flat is newer but much smaller...
GAME V - DAILY ROUTINES OF MONSTERS
Kids think of names of monsters - Hooky, Spooky, Ghosty, Sleepy, Bloody Mary, ... and they write down their everyday activities - get up, not wash, not clean teeth, dress up, breakfast, drink, work / study, hobbies, what the monster can/can't do - walk in the sunshine, drink lemonade, eat, hates - garlic, silver bullets...
Kids use present simple + always, sometimes, usually, often, very often, never or doesn't + verb
The “Alien” interpreter - other kid repeats the information in PAST simple.
