SUBJECT: FORWARD REACTION SUN GEAR
An improved forward reaction sun gear has been released for the S30-100E. The improved gear has an
additional weld to the inside of the sun gear hub where it joins the formed plate. Changes have been made to
the planet carrier and to provide clearance for the additional weld.

INTERCHANGEABILITY:
Items 1 and 2 must be serviced as shown above. Item 3, original P/N 176254 can be used when altered. To
alter, grind or machine a .10"/.15 (3mm) x 45° chamfer on the 2 5/8" (66.6 mm) bore (reaction gear side).
