OPEL OMEGA - MOTRONIC DIAGNOSTIC
Plug
The diagnostic plug, ALDL (=Assembly Line Diagnostic Link), is located on the right side of motor compartment.
The plug looks like this:
A - Earth
E - Engine data channel
F - +12v
G - Bidirectional engine data channel
How to get codes out?
No warranty, use at your own risk.
Connect:
A and B - Fault codes of Motronic
A and H - Fault codes of cruise control and original anti-theft system
Codes can be read from "check engine" lamp when ignition is "on" (motor NOT running)
Every cycle begins with code "12" (=Start of diagnostic mode)
Every code comes three times (12-12-12)
Motronic (1.5) after 9/1989 gives fault code "31" (crankshaft freq. sensor won't give information = motor not running)
First flashes mean "tens", then pause, and second flashes mean "ones". And this happens three times. After that comes the next fault code (if there's one).
Code 12 looks like:
Pause
Longer pause
Pause
