TEST A
This test paper consists of THREE parts. You may earn grades 2, 2+,3, 3+, 4, 4+, or 5. Grades 2 and 2+ stand for FAIL, and you have to resit this part of the examination which you failed. You may earn the highest grade (5!) on condition that you have earned a 5 grade for Parts One and Two and you have written an excellent interpretative essay.
Part One. Match titles with authors.

Part Two. Write one essay (one page) on one of the following topics:
Features of Victorian poetry
Features of the Victorian prose fiction (novels).
Features of British Modernist literature.
Features of British dystopian fiction.
Features of British postmodernist and postcolonial fiction.
Features of British poetry in the 20th century.
Part Three. Write a one-page interpretive essay on one of the following topics. Discuss setting, characters, plot, subgenre, message.
An analysis and interpretation of a pre-Victorian or Victorian novel.
An analysis and interpretation of a British or Irish modernist novel.
An analysis and interpretation of a British dystopian novel.
An analysis and interpretation of a British postmodern and/or postcolonial novel.
