TOPIC / THEME: Attacking Skills |
Receiving, Turning & Shooting in a Functional practice. |
DESCRIPTION OF PRACTICE: |
|
A functional practice. A simple demonstration of organization, management and control using Q&A technique to improve players understanding of the key factors relating to the topics in a repetitive rehearsal which reflects how this would happen in the real game situation. This session should clearly identify the need for demonstration and rehearsal in clearly and accurately recreated situations. |

ORGANISATION 3.Developing shooting and rebounding as a unit |
|
3v2 in each half, three must work an opening to shoot from their own half or pass to a forward to turn and shoot. |
On an area roughly 40x30; depending on age, ability and previous experience of the players, the teams line up to receive the ball from the keeper.
Combination play is now possible and receiving turning and dribbling will all be utilized.
Players apply all they have learned in the previous functions and SSGs to create a real match like situation to get repetitive practice. The coach must control the action and emphasize quality.

KEY OBSERVATION FACTORS: |
|
NOTES: |
The session can be developed by allowing a deep Player to enter the attacking half by running with, or dribbling the ball in there. This creates and extra player up front for combination play.
