6. The best anchorage for small vessels is in Rede van Nes,
near to a red floating beacon SW of the pier. A vessel
drawing not more than 3.0 m can anchor about 1/2 mile SW of
the pier. An anchorage is also available in Pesensrede to
small vessels, with protection from W winds, but it is
safe only when the drying banks are uncovered.
7. Temporary anchorage during southerly winds can be found
in the south-western part of Flokkavik, but only by vessel
with local knowledge, for this part of the coast is fringed
with rocks, a number of which do not dry.
8. There is a very good anchorage for vessels drawing 30
feet, at about half a mile east-north-eastward of Sablanca
Point; the only inconvenience is the tidal stream, the rate
of which reaches 1 1/2 knots. Anchor with Fort Boyard in
line with Lavardin Tower.
9. Large vessels should anchor off Katsuni Ura, on the
east side of the entrance. The best anchorage in Actura is
in a depth of 5 1/2 fathoms, over muddy bottom, at one
mile southward of Kane Saki, and small vessels can go
farther westward in the inlet, in depths of from 3 to 2
1/2 fathoms.
10. Good anchorage is available, 2 cables ESE of the harbour
entrance, in soft ground with depths of 2.4 m. Vessels
should anchor with Burb tower just open southward of Docker
Church.
11. Transshipment anchorages for tankers and bulk /cargo
carriers are established at SE end of Alte Ems in areas
shown on the chart and marked by light-buoys and buoys.
Limited use of these anchorages by other vessels may be
permitted by Knock Radar Centre.
12. Anchorage for vessels waiting to enter Delfzijl E
entrance is available in the E end of Bochut van Watum
channel, between 1 and 9 cables E of the E molehead of
the E entrance to Delfzijl.
