Yarn Needle
Work toe, heel and first round of body in black, change to white, work second round of body in back
loops only, work remaining stocking in white.
Neckline
With H hook and white, ch 2

Bat Eyes (make 2)

Bat Wings (make 2)
With G hook and black, ch 21

ch from hook and next, hdc remaining ch and st to end, ch 1, turn
Fasten off leaving tail for sewing. Sew straight sides together to form the “bowtie.” With white, either
embroider or paint (Tulip Slick Fabric Paint) on white markings as shown in photo. Stabilize wings by hot
gluing to felt to keep from curling if decided.
Eyes (make 2)
With J hook and black, make a magic circle
Round 1 hdc 6 into ring, tighten, join, ch 1
Round 2 work 2 hdc into each st around, join, ch 1
Round 3 sc 2, hdc 2, 3 dc in next, hdc 2, sc 4, join, fasten off leaving long tail for sewing.
Using photo as a guide, sew pieces on stocking. With black, either embroider or paint on mouth and
nostrils.
