1
Cut a piece of beading wire
(Basics). Center a pendant. On
each end, string a 6 mm spacer
and a 5 mm spacer.
2
On each end, string four of the
smallest rondelles and a slightly
larger rondelle.
3
On each end, string a 5 mm
spacer and a rondelle. Repeat
five times, stringing progressively
larger rondelles. String a 5 mm
spacer.
4
On each end, string smaller
rondelles until the strand is
within 1 in. (2.5 cm) of the finished
length.
5
On each end, string: 4 mm
spacer, 3 mm spacer, crimp
bead, 3 mm spacer, Wire
Guardian, half of a toggle clasp.
Check the fit, and add or remove
beads if necessary. Go back
through the beads just strung
and tighten the wire. Crimp the
crimp bead (Basics) and trim the
excess wire.
✳
Tip
If necessary, string an extra
3 mm spacer on each end so
that the toggle bar has enough
room to go through the loop
half of the clasp.
Stringing a striking necklace is a cinch with the unusual placement of
graduated rondelles. I strung these lepidolite jasper beads in reverse
order so the biggest beads are at each side of the necklace, tapering
down to the dramatic, intricate pendant. When combined with
saucer-shaped spacers, the effect is stunning.
