Application
Our APR-2000G transmitter is designed to measure pressure,
underpressure and differential pressure of non-corrosive
gases. Typical applications include the measurement of blast
pressure, chimney draughts or pressure/underpressure in
furnace chambers. The ability to select the radical conversion
characteristics enables the transmitter to be used in gas-flow
measurement systems using reducing pipes or other impeding
elements. The transmitter is built to withstand up to 35 kPa
overpressure. The housing of the electronic circuit is IP 65
rated.
Configuration, calibration
You can select the following settings of metrological parame-
ters:
♦
Pressure units for the active measurement range
♦
End-points of range, damping
♦
Radical conversion characteristics
♦
Inverted characteristics (output signal 20 ÷ 4 mA).
Ability to perform zero shift and calibration against pressure
standard.
Communication
Hart protocol with 4 ÷ 20 mA signal. Setting and calibration
through KAP-01 communicator unit, some Hart compatible
communicators or a PC through an RS-Hart interface and
Aplisens RAPORT-01 software. APR-2000G data transfer also
supports transmitter identification, as well as current readings
of pressure difference, output current and percentage of
measuring range.
Assembly
The economical version can be mounted on any stable con-
struction using the assembly fixture with
∅
9 opening. The
transmitter includes pipe stubs with terminals to connect to an
elastic
∅
6×1 impulse line. Where the pulse comes via a metal
pipe, we suggest the use of an M20×1.5 adapter for a
∅
6×1
fitting.
The transmitter with a C type connector should be mounted on
a 3- or 5-valve manifold. We recommend the use of our pre-as-
sembled transmitters with VM type valves (page 44).

Operating guidelines
The transmitter should be mounted in a vertical position. The impulse lines should be connected in such a way as to
ensure that any condensation flows off away from the device.
Where there is a significant difference in height between the place where the transmitter is mounted and the place where
the pulse is taken, the measurement may vary with the temperature of the impulse line. This effect can be minimized by
connecting a compensating pipe close to the impulse line, from the transmitter’s reference pipe stub to the height at
which the impulse is taken.
To prevent dust from entering the measuring cells, the impulse lines should be attached with care, with particular atten-
tion to the tightness of the connections between the impulse lines and the transmitter.
