Many holidays in

the United States are
on Mondays. This
means that most
workers have a three
day weekend.

On summer holidays, friends and

relatives get together and have a
barbecue or picnic. Children usually
run and play while the adults prepare
the food and talk.

Meat that is cooked on a grill

outside tastes better than meat that
is cooked in a microwave or on the
stove. It smells better, too. Steak,
hamburgers, hot dogs, potato salad,
corn, and watermelon are popular
foods for summer barbecues and
picnics.
