IMORTANT NOTE:

Currently, you aren’t required to create your own API’s for Yahoo, Twitter & Youtube.

We do have built in API’s that will allow the software to run without you having to enter your own API.

The reason we have the area for users to add their own API’s is because each service has request limit.
When the limit is reached, the API will be temporarily out of service. With over 100 customers running
off our built in API’s, it causes the service to sometimes become unavailable for a few hours. We’re
constantly working on adding more and more API’s for each service so this problem doesn’t happen in
the future. If this does happen to you, it’s best to create your own API so you never have to deal with
this issue.

You can see the rate limit for each API service below:

Yahoo - 5000 requests/ Per API key/ Per IP/Per Day

Twitter - ~250 request/ Per API key/ Per Ip/Per Hour

Youtube - Unknown/Not Documented

Feedback Button

Recently, we decided to add a feedback button to the software. This will allow anyone who has
an idea or suggestion to send their message directly to our developer. This feedback button can
be used for any suggestions or ideas you have and we encourage users to give it a try. For
example, if you notice the software isn’t scraping from a certain blog type correctly or isn’t
scraping data at all. You can submit the url’s of the blogs you would like added into the
software and we will add them on the next update.

Blog Harvester

The blog harvester has 3 options. Scrape blogs, Scrape Names and Scrape URL’s. When using the blog
harvester, you’re required to load in your OWN list of blogs where you would like the data scraped from.

Scrape Blogs (comments) – Will scrape the comments from your loaded list of URL’s.

Scrape Names – Will scrape the names or “anchor text” field from your loaded list of URL’s.

Scrape URL’s – Will scrape the URL’s of the people who have commented on the blogs. This is
great for building auto approve lists.

Please not that it is impossible for us to teach the software how to scrape comments, names and URL’s
from every blog type out there. If there is a specific type that you notice we’re missing, please use the
feedback button to send us a few example URL’s. We will then be able to add these in a future update.

*NOTE* It’s best to have all the filters (source settings) turned off when using the scrape URL’s function
and Scrape Names function.

Harvester

The harvester is the tool that allows you to find comments related to your particular niche. When using
the harvester, simply select the sources of where you would like the comments pulled from (Yahoo,
YouTube, Twitter) enter your keywords in the box, and click start. It’s that easy.

*Note* You can scrape from Twitter, Yahoo, and YouTube at the same time.

For best results, I prefer to Scrape from Yahoo Questions and use the source settings you see above.
This is what has worked best for me in my experience with using the software.

I found that having comments in the form of a question help to engage with the blog owner and make
your comment look more realistic.

I have had blog owners actually answer my questions before in the past. Try it!

Source Settings

Source settings are basically filters we added to help in retrieving less spammy comments. For best
results, use the same source settings as I have in the picture above. You can keep these checked at all
times when using any feature of the software.

Ignore Reply Comments – Simply ignores replies to comments. For example, if a user comments
on a blog and the admin answers with a response, this will make sure only the original comment
is scraped and not the admins as well.

Ignore Comments with Links – Self explanatory; any comments that have links in them will
automatically be skipped.

Ignore Hashtag Tweets – Used only for Twitter but can be left on all the time. This skips over
comments that have Hashtags in them.

Ignore Retweets – Again, this is only used for Twitter but can be left on all the time. This skips
over Retweets to help prevent from pulling duplicate comments from Twitter.

Ignore Comments with Less Than – This will ignore any comments with less than the number of
words you have selected. If you have this set to 10 then it will automatically filter out comments

background image

that have less than 10 words. It’s highly recommended that you leave this set at 10 if you’re
looking for higher quality comments.

Other Various Features

Edit Proxylist – Proxies aren’t required but if you would like to use them you can add them here.
Proxy Format: IP:PORT:USER:PASS

Edit Blacklist – This allows you to filter out comments that contain any vulgar words. For
example, if you add words such as Viagra, Sex, Drugs, etc. to the list, these comments will
automatically be filtered out.

Get Count – The get count button simply allows you to get the count of how many comments
are on each page of a blog. Simply check the “scrape blogs” button, load your list of blogs and
press the get count button.

Quick Tutorial on Quickly Building an Auto Approve List

This is a brief tutorial on how you can use the URL scraper function in Ultimate Comment
Scraper + Scrapebox to quickly build a list of auto approve blogs. The whole idea behind it is to
scrape the other Scrapebox users URL’s from a list of blogs and use the backlink checker in
Scrapebox to find the other blogs these Scrapebox users have been commenting on.

When someone uses Scrapebox to blast their backlinks, most of the time they will be hitting
thousands of blogs at once. The beauty of Scrapebox is that it’s so easy to get thousands and
thousands of backlinks within a few clicks. The only problem is a lot of times; the blogs will be
moderated and require admin approval. By scraping the other Scrapebox users URL’s and
checking then running them through the backlink checker, we will be able to see what other
blogs they have commented on. This is the easiest and fastest way to building an auto approve
list.

Here’s how to do it:

The first step is to find a decent list of blogs that you can use as a starting point. You can find
hundreds of free auto approve lists to start with by Googling, “get auto approve list” or “free
auto approve list”.

If you have trouble finding one, you can get a free one from my blog to help get you started:
http://www.scrapeboxhelp.com/free-28000-auto-approve-list

It is recommended that you don’t load the whole list (30,000 URL’s) into the software. A lot of
times you will only need 100-200 URL’s to start with to build a decent size AA (auto approve)
list.

background image

To begin you will need to load a list of blogs into the software and select “Scrape URL’s”. Make
sure and have all the “filters” under source settings unchecked before scraping URL’s from
blogs.

background image

You should now have a nice size list of other Scrapebox user’s URL’s. These are the URL’s we
will load into Scrapebox to find the other blogs they have commented on. From here I prefer to
just copy to clipboard so I can paste right into Scrapebox but, if you would like, go ahead and
save to a file.

background image

Next “paste” or load your scraped URL’s into scrapebox harvester. Make sure and remove

duplicate URL’s.

Then go to the the backlink checker add on.

Once the backlink checker is open select the “load url’s from harvestor” button on the left side

and you will see your list of URL’s load into the add-on. After this you simply press the “start”

button and wait.

background image

After Scrapebox is done finding all the backlinks for your URL’s, you can press the “Download All”
button and save the backlinks on your computer. (Remember where you saved them)

The next step is to comment on the blogs. Everyone who owns and uses Scrapebox should
know how to do this already so I’m not going to create a tutorial on this part.

All that is required for this part is to load the backlinks file you just saved into the blog lists
section of the commenter. Select Fast Poster and load all the other details needed to comment
such as names, emails, websites, comments, etc. Then click start and begin posting.

After comment posting has finished, export the successfully posted comments by going to

“export > export posted entries”. After this file is saved you’re going to want to load it back into

the blogs list section and select check links. When this is done press the check links button.

background image

From here you will start see the link checker open up and you can watch as the number of

posted links or “auto approve” blogs are found. After link checker is done you simply save the

links found and you now have your first list of auto approve blogs you can use to comment on

any time.

If you want to take this a step further and easily double or triple the list of your auto approve

blogs you can just import your list of AA blogs back into the URL’s harvested side of Scrapebox

and click the “trim to root” button.

background image

After that load the trimmed URL’s into the harvester side of Scrapebox and put the “site:”

command in the box at the top and select the “custom footprint” button. This will allow you

scrape all of the indexed pages of your auto approve domains. Now you won’t only be

commenting on just 1 auto approve page but you will have tons of pages for each blog that are

auto approve. Doing this can turn a 5,000 auto approve list into a 20,000 AA list very easy.

After you’re done harvesting the URL’s you load them back into the blogs section of the

comment scraper and repeat the posting (then exporting posted links) then checking links

process. Just remember to remove duplicate domains when necessary. You will now have a

much larger list of AA URL’s.

background image

The best part about this method is when it’s all said and done you can just repeat the whole

process by adding your new auto approve list back into Ultimate Comment Scraper and begin

scraping the URL’s again. You can build a massive and endless list of AA (auto approve) lists by

following this method.

*NOTE* Remember to remove duplicate URL’s when combing your lists, etc.

Other Uses for Using Ultimate Comment Scraper

Scrape keyword rich comments using UCS then use Scrapebox to post
comments to your own websites/blogs. This can make your website look
more active.

Bookmarking – Use the scraped comments as bookmarking
titles/descriptions, etc.

Use the scraped comments as Tweets in Tweetattacks or other Twitter
software.

Sell niche targeted comments or massive comment lists on Fiverr to make
some extra cash.

If you have other ideas on how to use the software feel free to share on the
scrapeboxhelp.com blog or by submitting feedback using the feedback button in
the software.
