Design and application

Our APR-2000 transmitter is designed to measure differential

pressure of vapours, gases and liquids. As the active sensing

element we have used a piezoresistive silicon sensor. It is

separated from the medium by a set of diaphragms and by a

specially selected type of manometric liquid. The sensing mod-

ule is built to withstand pressure shock or overpressure of up

to 10 MPa. The housing of the electronic circuit is IP 65 rated.

Settings

You can select the following settings:

Pressure units for the active measurement range,

End-points of range, damping,

Radical conversion characteristics starting from 10% of the

flow value,

Inverted characteristics (output signal 20 ÷ 4 mA).

Calibration

Ability to perform zero shift and calibration against pressure

standard.

Communication

Hart protocol with 4 ÷ 20 mA signal. Setting and calibration

through KAP-01 communicator unit, some Hart compatible

communicators or a PC through an RS-Hart interface and

Aplisens RAPORT-01 configuration software. Additional possi-

bilities of data exchange with APR-2000 are:

Transmitter identification,

Current reading of pressure difference, output current and

percentage of measuring range.

Assembly

The lightweight economical version can be mounted directly

onto the pressure system. We suggest the use of an Aplisens

fixture to mount it anywhere on a

25 pipe.

The transmitter version with process flanges should be

mounted on a 3- or 5- valve manifold. We recommend our pre-

assembled units consisting of transmitters with valve mani-

folds.
To measure levels of liquids which require special process

connectors for closed tanks (e.g. in the chemical and sugar

industries) the transmitter is equipped with one of the Aplisens

diaphragm seals. Pre-assembled units of transmitters and

diaphragm seals are described later in this catalogue.
