SUBJECT: PERKINS 6.354 CYLINDER HEAD CHANGE
Perkins has made a recent change to their cylinder heads. The new cylinder head has the injectors raised by
.080 inch. With this change, maximum nozzle tip protrusion now is .144 inch as opposed to .224 inch with
the earlier cylinder head.
The new cylinder head is directly interchangeable with its predecessor but the earlier type cylinder head
should not be used on engines after engine serial number 354U329416L. This would cause smoke and
could violate legislative requirements on emmisions.
