1. T writes the word advice on the board. In pairs, students have three minutes to make as many words as they can from the letters of advice. T finds which pair wrote the most words and elicits the words on the board.

2. Before Ss look at the texts, T asks: What country produces most of your favourite films? What proportion of the film you watch are Polish, from other parts of Europe, or from other parts of the world.

Discuss any differences they have noticed between Hollywood films and films from other places.

Ss open their books, T divides them into pairs and makes sure each person knows what to read.

Ss read their test and complete the relevant column. T walks around the class and gives help if necessary.

3. T demonstrates the 1st question and answer in open pairs:

A: When did Bollywood start?

B: It started in 1911. When did Hollywood started?

A: It started in 1911 too.

Ss ask and answer about the rest of the information and complete the other columns of their chart. Check and answer as a whole class.

4. T asks Ss: What type of programmes do you like watching? What are your favourite programmes? Who are your favourite TV stars? T writes a list of TV types on the board. Ss read the information and do the matching exercise and compare their answers in pairs. T checks answers as a whole class. T discuss students' opinions of the programmes and TV stars mentioned.

5. Ss read the information about polish stars again and tick the correct names.

Ss choose one of the stars and write a paragraph. T walks around the class and gives help, encourage them to swap their paragraph with a partner and check for errors.

6. In small groups Ss discuss their ideas for their own TV soap. T gives help with ideas and language, and materials they need. Class votes on the best soap.
