AD 2. The incorrect sentences are sentence number 2 and number 10.
Number 2 - This sentence is incorrect. The correct form should be We did not meet our old friends at a party yesterday or We met none of our old friends at a party yesterday.
Number 10 - This sentence is incorrect. It is not correct to have two negations in one sentence therefore the word NEVER should be replaced by word EVER.

AD 3. Sentence 9 and 14 are difficult to classify and not clearly negative as in sentence 9 the context is missing and the fact that the place hasn't changed much in ten years can be positive if the place was in a good condition ten years ago. In sentence 14 word HARDLY is not definitive and the sentence means that somebody might have seen him.

AD 4. Grammatical rules:

negation can be created

• by using a word with negative lexical meaning like HARDLY, LITTLE, FAIL

• by adding the negative particle NOT after first auxiliary verb in positive sentence (I DO NOT LIKE MILK)

• by using the word `NO' before a noun

• by using negative word in form and meaning (NONE, NOBODY etc.)
