NEWSPAPERS: The British Press

Divide yourselves into groups of equal size in order to make sure that each of the following newspapers is covered. You can focus mainly on the daily papers rather than the Sunday editions.

Find out the following information about each of the newspapers:

• when the paper was first printed,

• the past and present owners,

• the political leanings of the paper,

• the present editor

• any past editors of interest,

• e.g. scandals that occurred while they were in charge,

• the content

• market at which the paper is aimed.

• As well as any other interesting information that you find!

Please prepare a short PowerPoint presentation - around 5 mins long. The main facts and relevant pictures should be included - you will then elaborate on this.
