Learn how to create landscapes

Differentiated Learning Outcomes

ALL students WILL learn how to create and alter basic landscape features in Kodu

MOST students WILL be able to explain the difference between mood and tone

SOME students WILL apply their knowledge of mood and tone to create landscapes which set the scene for a game

Starter

Write Learning Objective onto Self-Assessment page of workbooks.

Activity

Plenary

Students assess their achievement this lesson by drawing or or on the Self-Assessment page of their workbooks. They also discuss, in pairs (turning to partner) their level of success this lesson, making sure to use key terms from the lesson in their discussion (Literacy Link).

ALL students WILL be able to identify what the term program, navigate, object and world means in computer games design

MOST students WILL be able to explain why it is important to define program steps in a serious of very specific instructions

SOME students WILL be able to apply these skills to modify and create a simply Kodu game world which interacts with objects
