Teacher produces two old telephones and locates them in the two opposite corners of the class and tells students they are going to play a kind of game.
T specifies herself and tells students what they have to do: At first, each student has to jot down their telephone number on a piece of paper (can be fake) and hand them into the big box near the teacher's table. Then, read it aloud so that the number's owner can hear it and come to another telephone. Eventually, students hold a short telephone conversation (e.g. Hello. How are you? I'm fine thanks, and you? I'm ok. Bye) (They do that until everyone takes part in that exercise)
